The countdown to the close of voting for the 2009/2010 AIB Better Ireland Programme has started so vote now to support your favourite local children’s project. Already over 300,000 votes have been cast. Results will be announced in late March 2010.

546 short-listed projects have been actively campaigning to win the biggest share of the €10,000 funding from their local AIB branch. The project that ranks in first place receiving the most votes will receive €5,000, second place €3,000 and third place €2,000. A total of €1.82 million is being donated to deserving children's projects nationwide through this year’s programme.

"There has been an overwhelming response at community level to the text and online voting, with local people, local organisations and local media all involved in the campaign for deserving children’s projects in their area. It is providing a great opportunity for children’s projects throughout the country to explain and highlight the important work that they do."
